Our Story
We’re Gillian and David Cotton, owners of Wightbayholidays, and big believers in the power of a proper break.
We know what it’s like to need a holiday that really feels like one. A place where you can slow down, sleep well, breathe in sea air, and just let the world wait a while.
For us, that place was always the Isle of Wight. We spent so many happy holidays here with our family, always returning home a little more relaxed, a little more connected, and dreaming that one day we’d make this peaceful island our home.
In 2017, we finally did. And in 2015, we began sharing our favourite part of it with others – setting up Wightbayholidays just minutes from the sandy shores of Sandown Bay. Our brick-built chalets are small but full of heart: clean, comfortable, beautifully styled, and made for real relaxation.
We’ve thought about all the little things that make a holiday feel easy, from comfy beds and good Wi-Fi to helpful tips and warm welcomes. Whether you’re off exploring the coast, or historic landmarks, meeting red squirrels, or just enjoying a drink on your private patio, we want you to feel completely at home.
Over the years, we’ve welcomed couples, families, dog-lovers, and adventurers—many of whom return year after year. Knowing we’ve helped people make lasting memories is what makes all the hard work worth it.
